For tournament players and competitive game formats use priority.
Priority: is the chance to act. A player who has priority has the opportunity to play an action card/ PICK ability or determine an move/attack. Priority is passed back and fourth during any given player's turn according to these triggers. Players do not need to acknowledge priority in most cases, although reasonable amount of time must be given for a player to act. A player who is considering to do something during their priority should indicate this by verbally letting the opponent know that. A player who verbally asks to hold priority is given time to think about the decision, and can still decide to pass priority.
Priority is given:
-To the player whose turn it is (opposing player may never act first.)
-To the opposing player after a move has been made, or any card/ability has been played
-To the opposing player after an attack is declared
-If a player responds to an attack declaration, then priority returns to the attacking player to: continue the attack, re-declare a new attack, or make a different move.
-To the opposing player after any die roll, the player who rolled the dice will also get a priority afterwards.
-To any player currently with the lesser current value (or attacker, when tied) in combat.
-To the opposing player after a BLAST, PICK, or any other discard effect takes place.
-To the player who conceded during combat.
-After a limb is blown off or if an attack is conceded.
-After a player passes priority (meaning that a player may do multiple things in a row if the opponent keeps passing priority).
Priority does not pass:
-If a player does nothing and passes the turn.
-When Shop opens at the end of a turn.
-If both players past priority (priority returns to the player whose turn it is).
